This 2002 BMW E39 M5 shows under 73k miles and was sold new in Louisiana. The car moved to the East Coast in September 2002 and then to the San Francisco Bay Area in November 2006, where it remained until the selling dealer’s recent acquisition. Power is provided by a 5.0-liter DOHC V8 mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, and modifications include an Evolve Automotive Alpha-N Stage 1 tune kit, AC Schnitzer exhaust, and H&R springs. An inspection was performed at Solo Motorsports in Atlanta, Georgia in January 2018, and the car also received new valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, power steering hoses and reservoir, control arms and bushings, four Yokohama tires, and a four-wheel alignment. This E39 M5 is now being offered with AutoCheck and Carfax reports, as well as a clean Georgia title.
The car is finished in Sterling Gray Metallic, and the Carfax shows an accident in 2005 when the vehicle went off the road. This is not documented in the AutoCheck and no other details are known about the incident. There is a crack in the front bumper as shown in the photos, but the selling dealer states there is no other damage to the exterior.
Black leather seats show light wear front and rear, and there is minor wear on the shift knob. An Audiovox MediaBridge 1500 with Bluetooth connectivity has been added, and the odometer shows 72,817 miles. Electrics are said to function properly, including power windows, doors, and locks, cruise control, air conditioning, and radio. The trunk tool kit appears to be missing the warning triangles, the lug wrench, the spark plug tool, and the emergency sunroof closing crank.
The 5.0-liter V8 has been fitted with an Evolve Automotive Alpha-N Stage 1 Tune kit, which is said to increase power and enable deletion of the mass airflow sensor. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via factory 6-speed manual transmission. The vehicle was inspected in January 2018 and the following items were replaced:
- Valve cover gaskets
- Power steering hoses and reservoir
- Spark plugs x8
- Front lower control arms
- Front upper control arm bushings
- New tires installed and balanced
- Four-wheel alignment
